The only way is up!
That’s what Volkswagen reckons of its new city car, called the up!, which replaces the Fox and is promising to blend clever technology and a luxurious feel to a small package.
A VW spokesman said of the new arrival, which has made its debuted at September’s Frankfurt Motor show:
“The up! is an entirely new design, offering maximum space on a minimal footprint, making it ideal for driving in the world’s cities. It will be launched in Europe in December.”
When it arrives in the UK there will be three versions: the take up! is the entry-level car, move up! The comfort-oriented model and high up! The range-topping version. In size and shape it’s more reminiscent of the Lupo city car from a decade ago than the Fox, Volkswagen’s most recent city car contender.
Details on the up!’s pricing and specification is due to be revealed later this autumn.
