The New Audi A6 comes as a breath of fresh air.
Audi has a new A6 model which they claim is greener, lighter and has more gadgets than any previous model. The car is 525kg lighter due to the new steel and aluminium body work. The reduction in weight makes the car greener with lower emissions and better fuel economy. Audi claims its 2.0 litre TDI 174bhp engine 129g/km will produce an average of 57mpg while still making 62mph in 8.7 seconds.
The A6 other engine options include a 3.0-litre TDI producing 201bhp or 242bhp and a petrol option which is a 3.0-litre TFSI with 296bhp. Every engine comes with stop/start technology and the company’s energy recovery system. A petrol electric hybrid model car is in development.
The Audi A6 will be supplied in two trim levels to the UK. These will be the SE and S-Line. The SE comes with leather trim, alloy wheels, cruise control, Bluetooth, light and rain sensors together with front & rear parking sensors. The S-Line will come with S-line interior and exterior styling package, xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, sports suspension and 18 inch alloy wheels.
The Audi A6 has an extensive choice of optional extras that the buyer can request, such as the eight inch satellite navigation system, comfort seats etc.
A6 ordering starts January 2011 with prices starting at £30,145 rising to £40,650.
