Alfa Romeo’s Golf-sized Giulietta goes on sale in the UK this summer. It has achieved a top five-star rating in Euro-NCAP safety tests and will qualify in 2012 even when the tests tightened as the new car scored 87/100 better than any other model in its bracket.
Pricing for the new Giulietta hatchback starting from £16,995 for the petrol models and the diesel versions starting at £17,895 priced to compete with the Ford Focus and VW Golf.
Excepet the Cloverleaf all other modles come with start-stop fuel saving technology as standard. The five-door hatchback will come with a choice of three petrol engines in 120, 170 and 235bhp outputs, and two diesel engines in 1.6-litre 105bhp and 2.0-litre 170bhp guises.
Standard equipment across all versions includes air conditioning,LED front and rear lights, six airbags and electric windows all round. Three trim levels will be available – Turismo, Lusso and Veloce.
