A CHINESE pick-up named after a world heritage site is on its way to the UK later this year.
Great Wall said this week its first offering to British buyers will be its Steed pick-up truck, which offers similar size and style to the likes of Nissan’s Navara and Mitsubishi’s L200 but undercuts them both with an entry price of £13,998.
A spokesperson for the company said this week: “The Steed is a robust and highly practical pick-up that will offer unrivalled value for money – the lowest price for any double-cab pick up in the UK.
With a gutsy 2.0-litre diesel engine, six-speed gearbox and selectable-on-the-move two/four-wheel drive, the Steed also delivers class-leading urban fuel economy and the lowest insurance ratings of any vehicle in the pick-up segment.“
The company, which already exports saloons, pick-ups and off-roaders to more than 100 countries around the world, will sell the Steed from 40 UK dealers when it arrives later this year.
