Chevrolet a company well known in the States for its enormous off-roaders is bringing a slimmed-down version to British shores next year.
This week Chevrolet said it will be officially launching the Trax at this year’s Paris Motorshow in September, with a view to bringing it to showrooms in 140 countries, including the UK, early next year.
Susan Docherty, President and Managing Director of Chevrolet Europe, said: “Trax provides Chevrolet an entry into a growing small SUV segment and delivers the flexibility, great fuel economy and car-like handling that urban explorers require.”
The Trax is being billed as an off-roader – or SUV as they’re called Stateside, short for Sport Utility Vehicle – but in a smaller package with low emissions and fuel economy in mind.
Exact details on prices and technical specifications haven’t been announced yet but the company is promising “SUV toughness and capability in a small package”, so expect it to compete with the likes of Skoda’s Yeti and Nissan’s Qashqai when it arrives in the UK
